How to Lose Weight by Focusing on Your Goals

You need to focus on your goals if you really want to enjoy life. I know that is a bold statement. But goals are that important to being happy.

You see, everything that you decide to do is a goal. And there really isn’t any point of getting into your car, if you don’t know where you are going. All you will do is use all of your gas or, even worse, spend hours in a parked car.

If you’re goal is to have fun, you need to define what fun will be. This is why so many children complain of being bored, because they have not decided what they want to do to entertain themselves.

When it comes to health and wellness, your goals keep you on course. But what course are you going to be on. You see, you can be on a course to failure or to success.

The course to failure is paved with poorly defined goals that focus on short term improvements with no real strategy towards long term solutions (i.e. the cabbage diet).

The course to success is paved with goals that take into account short term success (modifications to meals) and long term success (delicious recipes that are repeatable).

When we think both short and long term in our planning, we are much more likely to have success in all of our tasks. Planning to go to bed half an hour earlier during the week can lead to better sleep quality and length that result is less stress. Having less stress is associated with better mood and improve weight control. Leading to longer term goals of better health being met.

It is important to learn to create good goals for your physical and mental health. Every decision counts! So focus on your goals.
