Metabolic Syndrome – How Diet Affect Health – Healthy Keto Diet

It take several years of insulin resistance before a diagnosis of diabetes. This means that for several years, each person with a diabetes diagnosis could have been working on managing their eating habits and reversing their insulin resistance.

So, why then are millions of people diagnosed with diabetes and other metabolic syndromes on a weekly basis? Because doctors do not present insulin resistance as a condition that needs to be addressed immediately and because most people are resigned to the idea that eventually, they will inevitably be diagnosed with some sort of metabolic issue.

We are mistakenly under the impression that metabolic issues are our destiny. It is a fact that some medical issue will eventually end our lives but metabolic syndrome is absolutely avoidable.

When we eat a low carb ketogenic diet, most metabolic syndromes are completely kept at bay. Diabetes, Alzheimer’s, PCOS, and other metabolic issues can be addressed with diet if addressed early in the process.

My suggestion, when you go to the doctor and are told that you need to lose weight and cut down your sugar, take that to mean that you are overeating carbohydrates and should take steps to lower them immediately. It is your health and if you want to live a long time, take the steps to improve your health. Understand, your doctor will give you advice based on what they expect you to do. You need to look for assistance based on what you want your health to look like and how long you want to live.

Beware What Types of Carbohydrates You Eat – Healthy Keto Diet

Not all carbohydrates affect our bodies the same way. The types of carbohydrates you eat will affect your health and weight.

We’ve been told for years that fruit is healthy but recent information has taught us that we do not digest carbohydrates in fruit well. As a matter of fact, the fructose is only metabolized in the liver which is extremely problematic to our health.

By being conscious of how carbohydrates affect us, we are more aware of carbohydrate metabolism and how most people have carbohydrate addiction. That sweet flavor that we get from junk food and fruit is equally problematic to our bodies.

In this video I explain why sugar and fruit are just dangerous. I want you to live a happy healthy life and anything I can do to increase awareness and help someone out there to make a better choice, I will do.

Ever wondered if fruit was healthy? Research is showing that fruit contributes to many health issues including diabetes and liver conditions. Yet, we’ve only been warned about high fructose corn syrup.

Why have we been pushed to consume fruit? Initially, there was the idea that fruit was healthy because it was coming from nature. There was likely a small amount of truth to that before scientists genetically engineered the large, sweet, fruit that we are currently consuming.

Today, fruit is much larger and sweeter than what was found in nature. Most people would not have over eaten the original fruit, which was often full of seeds and only mildly sweet. Fruit would have been consumed, along with vegetables, when there was no meat available. Fruit and vegetables were a way of surviving when hunting was difficult.

Fast Weight Loss Isn’t the Goal – Healthy Keto Diet

Have you been trying to achieve fast weight loss? Did you notice that when the weight comes off fast, it gets back on just as fast?

Fast weight loss is not sustainable because it does not address the metabolic issues and carb addiction that is contributing to the weight gain. By forcing your body to lose weight by withholding nutrition (low calorie diets), you force your body to slow down your metabolism and stop any energy intensive activities (including growth, menstruation, autophagy, etc). The weight loss is therefore not sustainable.

When we do extreme diets, our body works on getting the most nutrients out of the food to nourish us. But this is not sustainable. When your body slows metabolism and eventually shuts down important processes, you are actually harming your body in an attempt to lose weight. Now, most people do not lower their caloric intake long enough to shut down menstruation because that means enduring extreme hunger.

It is all about good information. What do nutritionists and dietitians say about the ketogenic diet? Do they give a balanced and fair assessment?

Most people assume that nutritionists and dietitians would not give a positive review of keto because it threatens their income. I disagree with that idea. I think that anyone who wants to help others and chose the field of nutrition would still give the information even if that meas less income. Why? I do believe in the idea that most people are honest and seek to do good. There are many ways to make money and keeping people sick is unnecessary because there will always be people who need assistance with food for other reasons.

What I believe is that most nutritionists and dietitians were educated with the same information that most doctors were. And that information is out dated.

What is Carb Loading? – Healthy Ketogenic Diet

So I learned what carb loading is in this video. Not a concept that I have experience with because I am not a marathon runner and honestly can say that jogging is an exercise I avoid at all costs.

With that being said, carb loading seems like an idea that was developed by someone who does not understand the way that the body functions. I say this because the idea that we will need to eat a large amount of carbohydrates today so that our body has glycogen to use in a marathon tomorrow does not make sense. Our body continually replenishes our glycogen stores each time we eat. Further more, since our body works towards keeping our body in a state that it can react to the environment, if we are not currently using large amounts of energy, any carbs we eat will go towards replenishing the storage.

14 months ago when I began the keto lifestyle, I did not have a keto starter kit. The question is, did I need one?

Big business does not care about our health, they care about the bottom line. It is really important to remember that when you are making purchasing decision related to food. There are food scientists whose job is solely to find the right combination of sugar and salt to add to a food to make it more palatable. They call this the bliss point, when food tastes so good that you cannot resist eating it.

I don’t know how you feel about someone manipulating the ingredients of food to essentially make it addictive but I’m outraged by this practice.

Ironically, most people would buy snacks anyway, just because they are used to snacking. There isn’t actually a need for this level of manipulation.

Metabolic flexibility is the ability to respond or adapt to conditional changes in metabolic demand. This relates to any adaption to climate, lighting, or fuel source. In the keto world, there is a lot of emphasis on metabolic flexibility but I believe, for the wrong reasons.

What I have noticed is that the average person is seeking to be metabolically flexible so that they can resume eating carb heavy foods. So, rather than adapting to what is necessary to survive, they would like to indulge in poor quality foods under the guise of metabolic flexibility.

Unfortunately, our body is a very sensitive machine. So, when you try to use the lowest quality fuel to run a sensitive machine, the results are very predictable. Damage to the machine. And despite the fact that we have seen this result over and over (it is the reason many people are on a ketogenic diet, to solve metabolic problems arising from consumption of poor quality food), the majority continue to focus on resuming poor eating.
