Anyone who has ever tried to get a song out of their head knows that once you brain decides to focus on something, it is really hard to change that. So, when you brain believes negative things about your or your environment, it sticks.
That can have devastating results because your brain tells you what you should and should not do. Your brain tells you how you should and should not react. Your brain makes all the decisions. If your brain is saying you are an idiot, it is because you believe you are an idiot. That has an effect on how you interact in your world.
The thoughts we have about ourselves and our lives determine how happy or unhappy we are in life. Our thoughts shape our reality. When we believe negative things about our abilities, our looks, and our future, we behave in accordance with those beliefs. That causes us to reinforce those negative feelings because we are aware of our negative behavior that is reinforcing our negative ideas about ourselves.
