How Do People Fast – A Personal Story

This is a personal story that answers the question “How do people fast?”. Although I’ve never been particularly attached to food, if you would have asked me a year ago to fast, I would have refused. Fast forward to today, I fast regularly with ease.

Fasting is interesting in that, once you start doing it, you realize it is not really a big deal. It is interesting how you feel surprisingly good, with no hunger, and great clarity.

Our bodies are built to go periods of time without food. I believe that we have gotten away from the natural practice of fasting due to our reliance on technology that keeps food readily available to us.

My journey to fasting was simple. Painless. And very satisfying. I do like to learn new things about myself and it was surprising to learn how easily I adapted to fasting.

Although, I will admit. Not feeling hungry was a key factor. I dislike being hungry and that would have been a deterrent. The ketogenic lifestyle that I had embarked on allowed me to understand my body and do what felt natural. This created the situation where fasting felt “easy”. The hardest part was explaining to family and friends that I was not eating today. Funny where our stumbling blocks come from.

The benefits that I have lived from the ketogenic lifestyle and fasting are great. Aches and pains that I have lived with for years are no longer there. I do credit Keto with most of the improvement. However, I do see the benefits that fasting added.

I feel like I’m rambling a bit but these are my thoughts on my personal fast experience. Questions are welcomed.

I work on being happy everyday because happiness is a journey. It would be my pleasure to help you work on being happy, one video at a time.
