There are several psychological approaches. Each born out of a different theory and endorsed enthusiastically by its founder as the "answer". In the end, the theories focus on solving the same issue from a different angle. That is important to note. The same way that you can get to the same mathematical answer through multiplication, addition, fractions, etc. You can get to the same psychological solution through different approaches.
